After a very restless sleep and a depressing Election Day morning, I needed a breakfast that would slap me around the taste buds and get me out of bed. I dragged myself to the supermarket and bought ingredients for a smoothie that couldn’t be any greener.
This smoothie is very refreshing but may be a little on the tangy side for some. To make it sweeter and/or creamier, simply add in banana, avocado and/or more vegan yoghurt!
- 1 kiwi
- 1-2 handfuls of spinach
- 1 pear
- 1/2 tspb ginger
- 1/4 cucumber
- 1 tbsp flax
- Splash of orange juice
- Squeeze of 1/4 lime
- 100ml Green Tea-infused water
- Optional toppings: chopped kiwi, cucumber, chia, mint.
- Combine ingredients and blend until as smooth as possible.
